Ana Marculescu (@AnaMariaSPD), from Softpedia, did a very professional and objective work in her In-depth review of FileVoyager.
And it made me happy, because FileVoyager drew her attention among a daily deluge of software.
As you can see, FileVoyager got 4 stars out of 5. Which is pretty fine for me as 5 stars mean “PERFECT” and I don’t believe a software can be perfect.
The main thing I want to remember from this review is that FileVoyager has still room for improvement. It has been released to the public since a month now. Only 1 month! It’s still a newborn.
Then of course, compared to veteran and/or non-freeware file managers, mine lacks some tools.
As noted by Ana referring to a previous post of mine, things are coming. That post discussed the future “Files comparison” and “Folders synchronization”.
But the thing is that a lot of other features are cooking and partially developed.
Just to mention a few, in no specific order:
- Internal PDF viewer, if no preview handler installed on the system (90% already developed)
- Multi Rename tool
- Encryption and decryption of files
- Split and join of files
- Favorites manager
- Cloud drives seamless integration
- 64 bits support
So stay tuned. This is only the beginning of an exciting journey.
