We are pleased to announce a new version of FileVoyager, featuring a host of enhancements and fixes to elevate your user experience.
Modernized Code: FileVoyager has undergone an extensive and meticulous code migration from Delphi 2006 to Delphi 10.4. This not only ensures compatibility with the latest technologies but should enhance the stability thanks to the code clean up that was needed.

Mapping Refinements:
- The Viewer component now incorporates a refined retry mechanism for loading HEIC file previews, addressing delays caused by Windows returning a PENDING status.
- When rendering a geolocated media, the Viewer now makes use of Mercator Projection to query the HERE Maps API v3 and OpenStreetMap Raster API. Mercator Projections introduce a faster mapping experience.
FileVoyager keeps supporting HERE, Yandex, OpenStreetMap, Bing and Google for the mapping.
⚠️ Note that only OpenStreetMap and Yandex can be used without API Key.- For the other services, please consult their documentation to learn how to setup an API key.
- When in possession of a valid API Key, put it in FileVoyager for your personal use.
- API Keys are not free but allow users to query a huge, really huge, amount of maps for free.
- Dark Mode has been introduced a while ago and now extends to the maps as well.
Custom stylings is used for HERE, Google Maps, and Bing Maps. And Negative filter is used on OpenStreetMap and Yandex Maps, contributing to a visually comfortable experience.
Archiving update: Our archival functionality has been upgraded from 7-zip 9.20 to version 23.01.
The new (nerdy) capabilities brought by this update are :
- can unpack UEFI BIOS files
- can update WIM archives
- can extract .zipx (WinZip) archives that use xz compression
- can extract RAR5 archives
- can extract GPT images and single file QCOW2, VMDK, VDI images
- can extract ext3 and ext4 (Linux file system) images
- can extract ext2 and multivolume VMDK images
- can extract multivolume ZIP archives (z01, z02, … , zip)
- can unpack OBJ/COFF files
- can unpack DMG archives that use LZFSE compression method
- can unpack files encoded with Base64 encoding (b64 filename extension)
- can extract VHDX disk images (Microsoft Hyper-V Virtual Hard Disk v2 format)
- can extract APFS (Apple File System) images that can be used in DMG files
VLC compatibility Enhancements: The VLC support of the Viewer has been advanced from VLC 2.2.0 to version 3.0.20, ensuring seamless playback and compatibility with the latest media formats.
